Why do I need the SOLID|Support service?  back to top
Like a car that is poorly maintained, your computer will lose its performance abilities over time due to many factors. Mainly, the software on your system needs to be kept in good working order. In the past, there have been many attempts to create an All Inclusive software development that takes care of all these maintenance tasks. This software can be equated to an entire shop full of mechanic’s tools. If one is not properly trained in the use of the tools, then they can not be effectively utilized. It's also Affordable and Easy.

What about the security of my information?  back to top
Upon researching this product for public release, the question had been posed, what about the security of my information? The software we use to log in to your system is provided by LogMeIn. We did not author this software, and their own precautions are quite impressive. Full details of the security measures in place can be found here. This explanation completely addresses the risk of your live desktop traversing the internet.

I’m concerned about someone else logging into my system.  back to top
Occasionally, we have run into a situation where someone has very sensitive information on their hard drive and are concerned that even a SOLID|Tech Expert will be logging into the system. We have addressed many of those concerns in our SOLID|Support Privacy Agreement.

On that same subject, we would like to give you some additional insight:
  • 1. Your system can be compromised very easily, especially if it is not properly maintained. If you are concerned about our technicians’ trustworthiness, we urge you to realize they are highly trained professionals who work inside other people’s systems every day. The process we utilize to remotely control your system is monitored and tightly controlled.
  • 2. Every time a SOLID|Support Technician logs into your system, everything that is done is recorded for review by our management team. In the event a technician is unlawfully viewing or stealing information or otherwise working outside the parameters of the Privacy Agreement, this Technician’s employment will be promptly terminated and any applicable charges will be filed.
  • 3. Your system can be compromised and the same type of system we use to fix your system can be used to harm your system. Proper maintenance and security measures are your only defense against this.

  • 4. Our technicians ensure that your Antivirus never expires. We make sure that your system is not allowed to access an entire database of websites that are known to contain malware and malicious software. This blocking is done on the protocol level. This means your computer is not even able to communicate with known infectious sites, even if you try.

I don’t want somebody seeing what I’m doing all the time.  back to top
This legitimate concern has been very well covered. You do not have to worry about our technicians seeing what you’re doing. In fact, if you watch while a support session is in progress, you will see a constant advisory that your computer is being remotely controlled by a SOLID|Support Technician. Our software will tell us if you are currently at the computer during your appointment time (based on mouse and keyboard input.) If you happen to be there, our technician will always initiate a chat session before taking control of your system. You will receive an email 24 hours before a SOLID|Support maintenance session begins. Additionally, you can request a courtesy call before a technician begins work on your system. If we see you are using your computer at your scheduled maintenance time, the technician will call or initiate a chat with you before they ever see your desktop and give you time to finish what you are doing or reschedule your appointment.
